‘Making plans for the future is of use only to the people who are capable of living completely in the present’
Alan Watts
In the city like Hong Kong, the old buildings stand as they were whilst this new generation of skyscrapers overcast a massive shadow and hide them from limelight forever. The new buildings are emerging so fast, at a speed which leaves us feeling nothing but confused.
The speed of all of this development has widened the gap so much so it feels like we live in two small and very different cities instead of one. We can find a glossy, glittering skyscrap- er on one side of the road and the crumble modern building on the other side. Ironically, we live in such an environment which shapes us humans to who we are and what we become, without us realising.
The installation-Here and Now is created to question the existence of the tectonic world in between old & new, ruins & growth, time to time. which I am always fascinated about. and also make us slow down and truly sense the world around us. Ultimately, to make us ‘living completely in the present”
